LUANNE
PENNESI, RN, MS
Soon
after receiving her B.S.N. degree from Adelphi University in
1977, Luanne became administrator and nurse manager at a major
N.Y. medical center where she practiced adult medical nursing
for over 18 years. Exposed to the inner workings of this
high-tech facility, she witnessed firsthand the debilitating
effects of chronic physical, emotional and mental stress. This
experience fueled her passion for a new career in stress
management and natural approaches to health.
Today Luanne is a sought-after speaker in the
areas of wholistic health, stress management and
esteem-building. She uses her expertise in health care
administration, adult medicine, natural healing, alternative
medicine and wholistic nursing, to skillfully conduct workshops
for health professionals, teachers, students, the general public
and other interested groups around the country.
Luanne is president of the Metropolitan
Wellness Center, a NYC-based wholistic wellness center,
where she functions as administrator and conducts her personal
practice. She held the position of NYS coordinator for The
American Holistic Nurses Association for several years and
recently completed her tenure as the Program Coordinator of
Stress Management and Esteem Building for the Wholistic Nursing
Programs at the New York College for Wholistic Health,
Education and Research in Syosset, NY. She holds a
Masters of Science degree in Natural Health and is a Certified
Nurse AMMA™ therapist, practicing a comprehensive and
sophisticated Oriental diagnosis and massage therapy with
acupressure point treatment. She is also a Certified
Neurolinguistic Healer and Level IIB Healing Touch Practitioner
and will be enrolling as a nurse clinical doctoral candidate of
Chinese Medicine. She is trained in the use of high dose vitamin
C and bio-oxidative therapies as well. She was recognized
in "Who's Who Among Young American Professionals" in
1988 and "Who's Who in American Nursing" in 1994.
Luanne is one of the area's top
administrative consultants for natural health and wellness
centers and alternative medicine practices. She facilitates
Health Support and Study groups throughout the country where she
also conducts research and often shares a stage with health and
nutrition expert, Gary Null.
Luanne is the Founder and Executive Director
of Wholistic Nursing, Networks™, a dynamic new company
whose mission is to integrate wholistic education and modalities
into the community to increase the public's options for
maximizing and managing good health and well-being. She
has published a number of articles on natural healing and stress
management and has contributed to several video productions on
wholistic health and alternative medicine.
A regular guest on local talk radio, Luanne
co-hosted the radio program "The Tri-State Healing Hour
" with Gary Null on WEVD in 1997 and "Creative
Wellness" on WHPC from Nassau Community College in 1996 and
1997. In 2000, she hosted her own show, The Healing Hour,
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is also a founding member and
was a broadcast affiliate for The People's Network, a
revolutionary television network devoted exclusively to
providing motivational, instructional, inspiring and
success-oriented programming. Today, you can see her on
Staten Island Cablevision's The Thinking Mind with George
Stern and the Metro Channel's Health Styles with Mary
Mucci.
Luanne is a dynamic, energizing individual
who makes learning fun as she presents wholistic health concepts
in a manner that is easy to understand and to integrate.
She personally lives the healthy, positive, adventurous life
that she prescribes for others. She is a wild bird
enthusiast and an avid athlete, holding top positions in Race
Walking competitions in NYC. She has also performed in
International Roller Skate Dance exhibitions throughout the
country.
